The University of Wyoming is a public land-grant research university established in 1886 in Laramie, Wyoming, and serves as the state’s only public four-year institution of higher education. The university provides accessible, high-quality education while advancing research and community engagement in line with the land-grant mission created under federal legislation to promote practical and liberal education for diverse professions.
