The company was established early in the 1900’s in Des Moines, Iowa, as the Hoxie Fruit and Produce Company. It had become a full-time distributor of food products by the 1960’s and in 1973 was acquired by Continental Food Services. In 1977 it moved into a new facility located in West Des Moines. SYSCO acquired the company in 1988. It was relocated into a significantly larger state-of-the-art distribution center, located in Ankeny, IA, in 2001.
