Robert Orr & Co. was founded in 1859 in Nashville by two Irish brothers. Using river boats, train, and horse-drawn wagons, they started a dry goods business. Robert Orr & Co. was a staple in food service distribution in Tennessee. The company merged with Sysco in 1972. Today Sysco Nashville services middle Tennessee, as well as southern Kentucky. Our 410,000 square foot facility has a new freezer and cooler that were constructed in 2020.
